Barbaric is an Austrian corporation that is known world-wide for its sophisticated handling systems specifically designed for wood, glass and other materials. Through continuous innovation and the use of state-of-the-art technology Barbaric has established a leading position in the industry with a wide variety of products from manual lifting devices to large-scale automatic handling systems.
Stefan Barbaric founded the company in 1995 and started developing manual vacuum lifting systems to facilitate the handling of heavy goods. Already in 1996, the the company was relocated to its current location in the Pummererstraße 12 in Linz, which is expanded and modernized in 2004.
Research and development with a strong focus on innovation brought us to where we are now. Here at Barbaric solutions for demanding production processes are developed and implemented with close customer cooperation. In this way our first automatic storage system enabling the automatic storage and handling of wood panels was developed at the new company location.
In the following years, Barbaric continues to develop into an international company, starting to export to Europe, Australia, North and South America. That is why Barbaric also makes an extra effort to exhibit its state-of-the-art technology at international trade shows around the world.
Through the years of rapid growth, the company was also awarded several awards and prizes: including two Upper Austrian innovation prizes and the Pegasus Award for particularly innovative products made in Austria.
Barbaric has its finger on the pulse of time. In 2016 a brand new headquarter and a modern production facility was built – tripling the previous production and development area. More than 50 employees are currently being employed at this the headquarter in Linz and as sales representatives within Europe. Later this year, the establishment of a subsidiary in Raleigh (NC, USA) is planned in order to provide even stronger support to customers in the United States.
